Our Mission
Changing the Culture of Menstruation
Period poverty is a pressing issue throughout Ottawa, and around the world. We believe that access to period products is a human right. We normalize periods while providing and advocating for the accessibility period products.
According to Plan Canada's study on menstruation in Canada:
More than one in ten Canadian girls and women report they have had to regularly miss out on an activity because of their period and concerns about a lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.
One in three Canadian girls and women under the age of 25 struggle to afford period products.
Four in ten Canadian girls and women report they have had to sacrifice something else in their budget to afford menstrual hygiene products.

We believe that period poverty is being neglected by our local, provincial, and federal government, as well as our world leaders. Providing menstruators with access to free period products will help to alleviate the burden faced while on their period, allowing them to thrive. We wish to make a difference for menstruators in our community. For many of us, we are unable to relate to the struggles others face when it comes to a lack of sanitary products. Menstruation is difficult enough without this added hurdle.
